大家都知道Book就是書本的意思，不過你知道嗎？當Book與不同的字結合後，可是會蹦出新滋味的！engVid的Emma老師介紹了一些與book有關的措辭，學會這些措辭後，我們就可以善用這些有趣的表達方式跟別人聊天或是應用在寫作上，增添趣味！
1.Bookworm
這個單字可解釋作「書蟲」，形容非常喜愛閱讀的人。
e.g. He is a bookworm. He loves to read.
例：他超愛讀書，簡直是個書蟲。
2.Hit the books
這是用來表示「讀書」、「K書」，與study意思相同。
e.g. I gotta hit the books tonight.
例：我今晚得好好念書了。
3.Don’t judge a book by its cover.
這句話即中文俗語「人不可貌相」之意。
e.g. Don’t judge a book by its cover. Snails look too good to eat.
例：所謂「人不可貌相」，別看蝸牛長這樣，吃起來可是很美味的。
4.Be in someone’s good books.
這種用法可用來表達「為…所喜歡」的意思。
e.g. Mulan is in the teacher’s good books.
例：木蘭深受老師喜愛。
5.By the book.
這個片語表示「按規則行事」。
e.g. Police officers should do things by the book.
例：警察應依法辦事。
6.To book
這裡的Book有「預訂」之意，作動詞使用。
e.g. I booked the meeting room for 3pm.
我預約下午三點的會議室了。
7.Read someone like a book.
這句話表示「看透某人」。
e.g. My students look me like a book. They know that I’m angry.
例：我的學生看得出來我正在生氣。
8.Open book/Close book
Open book 和上述read someone like a book皆表示「容易被看透」，而closed book意思正好相反，表示某人「不容易被看透」。
e.g. 1. My boss is a closed book.
例：我老闆的想法實在很難讓人摸透。
e.g. 2. Your thoughts are an open book.
例：你的思緒真的很容易讓人看穿。
9.Throw the book at someone.
這個用法表示「給予…嚴厲的懲罰」。
e.g. The judge threw the book at me.
例：法官判予我嚴厲的懲處。
10.Every trick in the book.
這個用法可解釋作「渾身解數」、「所有辦法」。
e.g. I’ve tried every trick in the book to get my students to do their homework.
我已經用盡渾身解數讓學生們願意寫回家功課了。
11.The oldest trick in the book.
此用法可解釋成「老套但有用的小把戲」。
e.g. Writing the answers on your arm before a test is the oldest trick in the book.
例：考試前把答案寫在手臂上這招雖然老套，卻是很有用的作弊招數。
12.In my book
與In my opinion有相同意思，皆可用來表示自己的意見或觀點。
e.g. She is very kind in my book.
就我來看，我覺得她很善良。
