有許多形容詞都會以「-ed」或「-ing」做結尾，例如「bored」和「boring」，但他們的差別究竟在哪？不都是「無聊」的意思嗎？
English Like a Native的講師Anna提出了「-ed」與「-ing」兩者的差別，前者是在描述某人的感受，而後者則是形容某件事物帶給別人的感覺。下次使用形容詞的時候別搞錯囉！
1. –ed 感到……的
Explanation: to describe the way we feels 形容某人的感受
e.g. The students were bored because he spoke for so long.
因為他講得太久了，學生們感到很無聊。
e.g. The children have nothing to do. Therefore, they were bored.
那些孩子沒事可做。因此他們覺得很無聊。
2. –ing 令人……的
Explanation: to describe the thing / action causing the emotion
形容因為某件事物或行為所引起的感受
e.g. His speech was so boring. Therefore, the children were bored.
他的演講太無聊了。所以那些孩子們覺得很無趣。
3. 更多例句
e.g. I am interested in this film because this film is interesting.
我對這部電影很有興趣，因為這部電影很有趣。
e.g. He kept doing that annoying voice, and I left feeling very annoyed.
他一直發出惱人的聲音，讓我覺得非常惱怒。
e.g. The food was disgusting. I am disgusted with the standard of food being served.
這食物太噁心了。我對於這些食物的品質感到厭惡。
e.g. It’s being an exhausting day. Dave and I are just exhausted.
這真是個讓人疲憊的一天。Dave和我都覺得筋疲力竭。
e.g. I am quite satisfied because I ate a satisfying meal.
我現在感到很滿足，因為我吃了一頓令人滿足的大餐。
e.g. Gardening is tiring, isn’t it? I am certainly tired.
園藝這件事太讓人疲累了，不是嗎？我肯定是累了。
