「好得跟黃金一樣」(as good as gold)究竟有甚麼含意?「move the goalposts」又為何總是讓人生氣呢?

1. Not my cup of tea

= not what one likes or is interested in 不喜歡、沒興趣
e.g. Golf is not my cup of tea. 我對高爾夫沒興趣。

2. to beat around the bush

= to avoid talking about what is important 拐彎抹角
e.g. Don’t beat around the bush, just say it! 別拐彎抹角了,就直接說吧!

3. to move the goalposts

= to change rules in an unfair way 改變遊戲規則

4. as good as gold

= to behave well 表現良好
e.g. When I was young, my mom always told me that I was as good as gold.
當我還小的時候,我媽總是告訴我我表現得很好。

5. a piece of cake

= something that is very easy to do 非常簡單
e.g. Learning English is a piece of cake to her. 學英文對她來說非常簡單。
