在英文中，有許多有趣的片語與”dog”有關。比方說”A dog with two tails”，並不是指字面上的意思，可別直接翻譯成有兩條尾巴的狗狗喔！Let’s talk的Niharka老師整理出了6組包含”dog”在內的片語，一起來跟著老師學習，讓你會話與寫作的程度更上一層樓！
1. Every dog has his day – 時來運轉
指每個人不管再衰，都會有他走運的一天；壞人也終究會得到報應。
ex. “Don`t worry about him. Every dog has his day and he will eventually suffer for all the bad things that he is doing.”
別擔心，風水輪流轉，他總有一天會因為他做的壞事而付出代價。
2. A dog with two tails – 非常開心
Ben’s team won the match. Their manager was like a dog with two tails.
Ben的球隊贏了比賽。他們的經理樂不可支。
3. An old dog will learn no tricks – 老狗學不會新把戲
指老年人很難學會新事物，或聽不進他人意見。
ex. You can’t teach an old dog new tricks and I do not think that my father will ever change his eating habits.
你不能教老狗新把戲─我不覺得我爸會改變他的飲食習慣。
4. Let sleeping dogs lie – 不要招惹不必要的麻煩
ex. You should let sleeping dogs lie and not ask our boss about the dispute.
你不應該問我們老闆有關這場糾紛的事，別招惹不必要的麻煩。
5. As sick as a dog – 病得很重、上吐下瀉、吐得厲害
ex. My friend was as sick as a dog when he left the restaurant last night.
我朋友昨晚離開餐廳時吐得病懨懨地。
6. Dirty dog – 卑鄙小人
That dirty dog tried to cheat in the card game!
那個無恥的傢伙想在撲克牌賽局中作弊！
