基本定義：to assist , to aid 協助.幫助
to make something nicer 讓某個東西更好 , 改善
ex. Ahhh, that massage really helped my backache.
恩哼，按摩真的改善了我的背痛。
ex. I think it’ll help if you restart your computer.
我認為重新啟動你的電腦會有幫助。
to avoid 避免
ex. I’m sorry you fell down. I just can’t help laughing.
很抱歉你跌倒了，只是我忍不住笑了。
ex. I can’t help wondering…what’s the company going to do next?
我不禁想知道…接下來公司要做什麼？
to serve (food or drink)
用於服務上（食物或飲料），在這表示自己來
ex. Please, help yourself to anything you’d like!
請你自己做任何你想要的事情！
ex. Guests may help themselves at the buffet.
客人可以自行享用自助餐。
to take without permission 沒有得到許可
ex. I’ll just help myself to this jar of cookies…
我自己就吃了這罐餅乾。
ex. She helped herself to all the money in her mother’s wallet.
她自行拿走了媽媽錢包裡的所有錢。
so help me (God) 表示不管你相不相信
ex. So help me God, I am gonna get that job.
不管你相不相信，我要得到那份工作。
ex. I am gonna open my own restaurant, so help me God.
不管你相不相信，我要開一間屬於自己的餐廳。
can’t help but 忍不住.不得不
= cannot avoid , cannot refrain from doing , cannot stop from doing
ex. I can’t help but cry when I see this movie.
當看我這部電影時，我忍不住哭了。
= I can’t help crying when I see this movie.
ex. He can’t help but dance when he hears that song!
當他聽到那首歌時，他忍不住跳舞！
= He can’t help dancing when he hears that song!
