1、storm out = leave angry 氣憤地離開
你跟兩個朋友一起出去吃飯，明明一開始都聊地好好的，後來卻因為一件小事吵了起來。 通常在這種情況下，一方會氣沖沖地就走了。Usually one person storms out.
2、under the weather = sick 身體不舒服
– How are you feeling today? 今天身體感覺如何？
– I am a little under the weather. 不太好。
3、weather that storm = survive difficult times 挺過困境，走出來
比如說你為了多益天天複習，非常努力，考出來的結果也相當不錯，別人就會對你說 “Congratulations! You weather that storm.”
再比如分手後，經過一段療傷期，你終於走了出來。朋友就會對你說 “You weather that storm.”
4、get wind of = find out information/ secret 聽到八卦/秘密
5、rain on one’s parade = lessen happiness 掃興
比如你升職了，興高采烈地告訴朋友這個好消息，but your friend rained on your parade by saying: “Well, you are going to be very busy, and maybe have more stress.”
6、take a rain check = reschedule 改天再約
比如你約朋友吃飯，他本來都答應了，後來因為臨時有事，只能跟你約改天: “Sorry, I have to take a rain check.”
7、 the calm before the storm = the quiet before a situation 暴風雨前的寧靜
8、on cloud nine= someone is very very happy 興高采烈
當你有一天真的遇見你的夢中情人，你就能說 “I am on cloud nine!”
9、 steal one’s thunder = take one’s attention away 搶風頭
去喝別人喜酒的時候，女生一定會注意不要打扮得比新娘還漂亮，不然就會steal her thunder
10、take by storm = do it quickly 迅速地
Lady Gaga took the music world by storm. Lady Gaga很快就在音樂圈闖出一片天。
