to miss something from your possessions ; to miss something from its regular location
遺失.失去.丟（從財產中遺漏東西 ; 某物從正常的位置錯過了）
ex. I lost my keys!
我弄丟了鑰匙！
ex. I always lose a sock in the laundry.
我經常在洗衣店裡丟了襪子。
to suffer because of no longer having something
指因不再擁有某些東西而受苦，這是一個嚴重的失去。
ex. I lost my father in the war.
我在戰爭中失去了父親。
ex. She lost her arm in a terrible accident.
她在一次可怕的事故中失去了手臂。
to fail to use 運用失敗
ex. Argh, I lost so much money on this project.
哎 我在這項目上損失了好多錢。
= I failed to use money effectively.
ex. You’re gonna lose a lot of time if you don’t work more efficiently.
如果你工作效率不高，你會失去很多時間。
to fail to maintain 無法維持 (精神.心理狀態）
ex. She lost her mind when she saw her bank account had been emptied.
當他看到銀行帳戶被清空時，她失去了理智。
ex. He ran too fast and lost his breath.
他跑得太快，無法控制他的呼吸。
to get rid of something 擺脫一些東西
ex. You really need to lose some weight.
你真的需要減肥一下。
ex. We lost our attackers by hiding under a bush!
我們藏在灌木叢下，擺脫了攻擊者。
to lose (one’s lunch) 嘔吐
= to vomit
=to throw up
ex. Ugh, I’m about to lose my lunch.
噢 我快要吐了！
ex. Someone lost their lunch on the airplane.
有人在飛機上吐了。
to lose it 瘋了.情緒失控
= to go crazy
= to lose your emotional control
ex. My mom lost it when I said I’d spent all her money.
當我說我花光了她所有的錢，她情緒失控了。
ex. My boss is gonna lost it when he finds out we didn’t meet our goals for the month.
當我老闆發現我們沒達到這個月的目標時，他將會瘋掉。
