當我們想用英文表達「因為」、「由於」的時候，最常用的就是because of 或是 due to 了。但是because of 跟due to還是有些許用法上的差異。
以下說明due to跟because of的差異，趕快學起來，下次就不會再搞錯囉。
1. due to 修飾名詞，because of 修飾動詞
(x) The crisis took place due to poor organization.
這樣的說法是錯的，因為前面是動詞。
(o) The crisis was due to poor organization.
這是對的，因為前面是名詞。
due to 用法最常見的句型就是：
名詞+ Be動詞+ due to
例：The delay was due to heavy traffic. 這個延遲是交通阻塞造成的。
另外because of 的用法如下：
例：The store closed because of heavy rain.因為大雨這店關門了。
close 是動詞，而because of 用來修飾前面的動詞。
但請注意：這句裡的because of ，不能用來換成due to。
下面的說法是錯的：
The store closed due to heavy rain.
因為due to 是用來修飾名詞，因此上面這句是錯的。
所以原本這句錯誤的句子(x) The crisis took place due to poor organization. 換成because of 就變成對的句子了。
The crisis took place because of poor organization. 因為前面是動詞took place，而because of 用來修飾它。
2. due to 的意思近於caused by
due to 的用法跟caused by接近。
例如以下句子：
例：The delay was due to heavy traffic. 這個延遲是交通阻塞造成的。
可以替換成：
例：The delay was caused by heavy traffic. 這個延遲是交通阻塞造成的。
再來看看以下錯誤的例子：
(x)The store closed caused by heavy rain.
這裡用caused by顯然不對，所以上述例子不能用due to。
