記得good的比較級、最高級不是gooter或是goodest，而是──

Good, Better, Best
好，比較好，最好的
My test score was good.
我的成績很不賴
Mary’s test score was better than mine.
Mary的成績比我還好
John’s test score was the best in our class.
John在班上成績最高

2. Bad 不好的

Bad, Worse, Worst

壞的，比較壞，最壞的

Mary’s test score was worse than mine.
Mary的成績比我還差
John got the worst mark in our class.
John的成績是班上最差的

3. Many 許多、很多

Many, More, Most
許多，較多，最多

I studied for many hours.
我讀了很多小時

Mary studied more than I did.
Mary讀得比我久
John studied the most.
John讀最久

4. New新的

New, Newer, Newest
新，新的，最新的
或許你還記得比較級、最高級在「短母音+子音字尾」的形容詞要重複字尾加er、est，但是New音標/nuː/的u屬於長母音，所以要做一般的變化：直接加er、est。

短母音+子音：
Big, Bigger, Biggest
大的，較大，最大的

5. Far 遠的

Far不屬於一般規則的形容詞，所以變化是──

Far, Farther, Farthest
遠的，較遠的，最遠的

I live far from work.
我家離工作地方很遠

Mary lives farther.
Mary住得比較遠

John lives the farthest.
John住的最遠
