Be able to 的中文意思是指「能夠…」的意思，表達一個人能夠或不能夠做什麼。
例：
She is not able to see you.
她無法見你。
例：
They wouldn’t be able to come.
他們來不了了。
在有些情況下，Be able to 是可以替換成Can的。
例：
I’m not able to give you that information.
I can’t give you that information.
我無法給你那項資訊。
上面兩句意思是一樣的。
另外，如果你想表達的是，某人過去「能夠…」做到什麼事，你可以用was/were able to ，而不是用can的過去式could。
例：
He was able to get the tickets.
他能夠拿到票。
你不能說：He could get the tickets.
因為他能不能拿到票，是既定事實，所以要用able to，could是帶有懷疑不確定的意味的。
