to perceive with the ear 聽（用耳朵感知）
ex. Can you hear me now?
你能聽到我嗎？
ex. I heard you singing.
我聽到你唱歌。
to listen carefully ; to give your attention to 仔細聽
ex. Hear me out.
聽我說
= Please listen to me.
= please listen carefully to my idea.
= Please listen carefully to what I’m going to say.
ex. Why don’t you hear what he has to say?
你為什麼不仔細聽他說話？
to receive communication 接收訊息
ex. Have you heard from him lately?
你最近有聽到他的消息嗎？
ex. I’ve been hearing a lot about next week’s meeting.
我已經聽了很多關於下週會議的事。
to consider an idea (used in negative)考慮一個想法（用於否定）
ex. You want to pay for dinner?
你想付晚餐嗎？
I won’t hear of it.
我不想。
ex. I asked for a raise, but my boss wouldn’t hear of it.
我要求加薪，但我老闆不考慮。
Hear, Hear! 這是一個比較老式的表達同意的說法！
ex. A policy change?
政策變化？
Hear, hear!
說得好 說得好！
ex. Free ice cream on Fridays?
週五有免費冰淇淋？
Hear, hear!
好喔 好喔！
hear a case 聽審案件.審理案件
用於法律上，指聽聽法律討論
ex. The court wouldn’t hear our case.
法庭不會審理我們的案件。
ex. The judge is hearing the case tomorrow.
法官明天將審理此案。
