10個英文片語描述「自以為是」的人

在生活中總是會遇到自以為是的人。這種人到處都存在──存在於辦公室，存在於朋友圈，存在於日常生活中。有時候我們自己也會一不小心就成了自以為是的人。Let’s Talk的Rima老師這次就來教大家一些有創意的方式來描述自以為是的人。

1. to be uptight

表示態度很直接、很自以為是，甚至也可以形容一個人不合作。

“My boss is so uptight that he never listens to my new ideas.”
「我的老闆太自以為是了，他從來都不聽聽我的新想法。」

2. to be a stuffed shirt

表示某人很高傲，沒有一點彈性。他只堅守著自己的原則，而且認為自己的方法才是對的。

“I don’t like to go to dinner with Marc. He is such a stuffed shirt.”
「我很不喜歡跟Marc一起吃晚餐，他真的很自以為是。」

3. high and mighty

形容一個人只活在自己的世界中，眼裡沒有其他人，不會考慮別人的感受。

“You’re just being so high and mighty. It’s not fun hanging out with you.”
「你實在是太自以為是了。跟你在一起一點也不好玩。」

4. too big for one’s boots

表示一個人很自我感覺良好，覺得目前的狀態、工作、人際關係都很好，而且會覺得自己在眾人之上，其他人都做得不好。

“The nice, soft spoken intern has become too big for her boots after 6 months in my office.”
「那位個性和善、講話溫柔的實習生在來我的辦公室六個月後就變得相當自以為是、目中無人。」

5. to have a swollen head

有大頭症，表示一個人自尊心很強，或是行為很自以為是。

“When Clarissa became a star, she had a swollen head all of a sudden.”
「當Clarissa變成明星時，她就突然變得很自以為是。」

6. to put on airs

這個片語有兩種描述的狀況，第一種是假裝自己很厲害，第二種是指表現得很自以為是。

“There is a lot of people in social gatherings and circles who put on airs to attract more attention.”
「在社交場合中會有很多人都裝做自己很厲害以吸引更多的注意。」

7. to be stuck up

這個片語與to be a stuffed shirt意思很接近。表示一個人很自我、很我行我素，都指照著自己的想法做事，從不考慮其他人的想法。

“When I went for dinner with Serena, I realized that she’s just stuck up and I decided never to socialize with her again.”
「當我和Serena一起吃晚餐的時候，我發現她是個很自我的人。所以我決定再也不跟她往來。」

8. to have your nose in the air

表示一個人非常地自傲，和to have a swollen head意思是一樣的，所以可以直接把片語做抽換。

“When Clarissa became a star, she had her nose up in the air all of a sudden.”
「當Clarissa變成明星時，她就突然變得很自以為是。」

9. to be up on a high horse

表示很自以為是，而且還看輕別人。

“Hey listen, you know you don’t have to be up on your high horse all the time. You are actually on the same level like us.”
「喂，聽著，你可以不用一直表現得自以為是、高人一等的樣子。你其實跟我們是同個等級的。」

10. to be holier than thou

表示表現得很正義，或是很自己為是。他們總是覺得別人做得不夠好，別人過的人生不夠精彩等等。

“You know what, you’re just always so holier than thou.”
「你知道嗎，你總是很自以為是！」
