Jacob: And we’re going to Nashville!
Michael: Yee-ha! Goin’ to Nashville, country music capital of the world.
Jacob: Is that what they say?
Michael: That’s what they say.
Jacob: It’s where country music is from.
Michael: Country music! Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, George Jones, Tammy Wynette, Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers.
Jacob: OK. Those are some good country music artists.
Michael: Classic country. And there is more, you know, Blake Shelton, Travis Tritt, Carrie Underwood. You know?
Jacob: What about Taylor Swift?
Michael: Taylor Swift, yeah, she’s pop. She’s pop with a little bit of country thing.
Jacob: But isn’t there a lot of music these days…doesn’t that have sort of country influence to it, sort of crossover, like pop countries?
Michael: Yeah. It’s true. Country kind of lost its way, ’cause there is, you know, the big artists are just basically doing pop music that has the country twist to it. You know, and then there is the other kind of country, which is more old style. And those people, I think, are looked at as kind of being old-fashioned, whereas those people, the old-fashioned ones, look at the new ones as being “that’s not country, that’s pop music with a fiddle.” So, it’s kind of in a weird place, but it certainly become very popular, and you know, people like Taylor Swift sell records all over the world right now, not just in parts of Americas they used to.

雅各： 現在不是有很多音樂…不是有很多音樂都受到鄉村樂的影響嗎？有點像是混合音樂，像是流行鄉村樂？
麥可： 是啊，沒錯。鄉村樂有點沒落了，因為大咖歌手基本上都在玩加了點鄉村樂的流行樂。然後，還有其他種鄉村樂，比較老派的。我想，那些被視為老派的人，那些走老派的人，會看著這些新樂派的人說「那才不是鄉村樂，那只是帶點假鄉村的流行樂。」所以說，這情況有點尷尬，不過它肯定是變得相當流行，而且像泰勒絲這些人，現在唱片都銷售全球，而不只是像他們以前那樣只在美洲部份地區銷售而已。
