英文 This, These, That, Those 中文意思跟用法，都搞清楚了嗎?

This、These、That、Those傻傻分不清嗎?除了用法不同，發音也要注意，來跟著Lucy複習一遍這些看似簡單的詞吧!

This, That是單數；These, Those是複數
This, these 是指靠近我們的人事物；That, those是指離我們遠的人事物

Those的結尾是Z的音
This的i是短母音，結尾是S的音
These的e是長母音，結尾是Z的音

Determiners 限定詞

What’s this book about? 這本書在講什麼?
That door’s unlocked! 那扇門是開的!
I really like those socks! 我真的很喜歡那些襪子。

Pronouns 代名詞

This is lovely! 這太棒了!
That is a great achievement! 那真是一大成就!
You can take these home. 你可以把這些帶回家。
We’re going for a Sunday roast first, and then for a walk around the village. Are you happy with that? 我們打算先吃個星期日大餐，再到鎮上走一走，你ok嗎? (這裡的that代表上面那一段話)
This is my brother, George. 這是我哥哥George。(This用來指定人)

This、That: 單數、不可數名詞

This bread is stale. 這麵包不新鮮了。
Please pass me that coffee. 請把那杯咖啡傳給我。

These、Those: 複數名詞

These shoes are yours. 這些鞋子是你的。
Those houses are for sale. 那些房子在拍賣中。

情感

通常用this、these來表示正向、喜歡的事物: I love these new hats that everyone seems to be wearing! 大家好像都戴同一款帽子，我很喜歡這些新帽子!

通常用that、those表示負面事物: Have you seen those awful shoes? 你有看到那些超醜的鞋子嗎?

Shared knowledge 彼此知道的訊息

You know that house down the road? It’s getting demolished on Sunday! 你知道街尾那棟房子對吧? 它星期日要被拆除了。

Substituting ‘the one(s)’

The best example is that given in the first paragraph. 第一段給的例子最好。
The most successful experiments were those performed in dark conditions. 那些在黑暗中進行的實驗是最成功的。

*注意，通常不會用that代替人或動物
