臉部表情千百種！用10個英文例句簡單表達

表情是會說話的，我們可以從他人的臉部表情得知他們現在的情緒，嘴角上揚表示開心，皺眉則可能表示生氣或是焦慮。

Let’s Talk的老師整理了10個語句，用來形容人們的臉部表情，讓我們可以學著表達自己或他人的情緒。

表達「快樂」：

Broad smile on the face.

這表示當一個人開心時，臉上帶有笑容。
例句: When my little sister sees her father come back from work she always has a broad smile on her face.

Beaming from ear to ear.

笑得嘴角都裂到耳朵了，形容非常的高興。
例句： Children were beaming from ear to ear when they saw ice cream.

表達「傷心」：

Why the long face?

為什麼拉長著臉呢？當你看到對方臭著臉，可以試著用這句話來詢問。
例句：You’ve just got a new job, a new house – you should be happy! Why the long face?

表達「憤怒」：

He was wearing a frown.

形容當一個人憤怒或者憂慮時，眉毛低聳、眉間和額頭佈滿皺紋的模樣。
例句：When Elena walked off after the argument with John he was left there wearing a frown on his face.

Grimaced/ Winced

這是用鬼臉來簡短地表達不悅、嘲弄的方式。
例句：She took another drink of his coffee. ‘Awful,’ she said with a grimace.

She gave me a dirty look.

他給了我一眼─這裡指的是類似於「瞪」，用眼神表達不滿的方式。
例句： I got a dirty look from the teacher when I cracked a joke in class.

He was purple with rage (fierce anger)

臉色發紫，是形容極度憤怒，以至於臉都漲成了像茄子一樣的顏色。
例句：She was purple with rage when she saw the teacher scolding her child.

If looks could kill

如果眼神可以殺人……這是一個未完成的條件句，當然是用來形容一個人極度震怒、看起來很可怕，不是真的要殺人。
例句： I’ll never forget the expression on my boss’s face when I turned up late for work fourth day in a row.

表達「驚奇」：

Raising Eyebrows

有時候人們在驚訝的時候會不自覺地抬高眉毛，或者藉此來表達它們的不滿。
例句：She raised her eyebrows when she saw me with Karin at the restaurant, she didn’t expect us to be there.

表達「羞辱」：

Looking down the nose at someone

用鼻子看人，形容某人可能因為對方的社會地位比自己低，或認為對方不重要，而表達出輕視的態度。
例句：Just because he’s rich he looks down his nose at us.
