在英文裡面，有很多單字常常會搞混，例如這四個：They’re/ there/ there’s/ theirs ，這可能是很多學英文的新手常常會遇到的困擾，其實這四個英文單字很好辨別啦，如果你還不知道它們之間的差異，那就趕快學起來吧！
下面說明英文They’re/ there/ there’s/ theirs 的差別。
1.They’re 他們是、there 在那兒
They’re是個英文縮寫，全名為They are，也就是「他們是」的意思。至於there則是「在那兒」的意思，詞性為副詞喔。
例：
正確：Jenny’s eyes aren’t green. They’re (they are) blue.
錯誤：Jenny’s eyes aren’t green. There blue.
珍妮的眼睛不是綠色，是藍色的。
例：
Put the chair there.
把椅子放在那裡。
2.there’s = there is /there has，theirs 他們的
至英文there’s，則是一個英文簡寫，全名可以是there is 或是there has，至於是there is 或是there has，則需要你依照上下文去判斷。
至於theirs則是they的所有格，中文意思為「他們的」。
例：
This is wrong. There’s (There has) been a mistake.
這是錯的，有個錯誤。
例：
There’s (There is) a new coffee shop in the piazza.
廣場上有一家新咖啡店
上面的There’s分別表示為there has 跟there is，所以你要根據前後為自行去判斷是那個簡寫喔！
例：
That car is theirs.
那張椅子是他們的。
