死亡、死掉…的英文怎麼說？die的中文意思大家都知道，但是你可能不知道，die還有很多其他的用法。

中文基本意思：死亡
ex. She died yesterday.
她昨天去世了。
ex. Doctors say he might die within a year.
醫生說他可能一年內會死亡。
to disappear gradually 逐漸消失
ex. The noise died down a short while after the concert ended.
音樂會結束，噪音過一會兒也消失了。
ex. My interest in eating meat died after I watched a documentary.
看完一部紀錄片後，我對吃肉的興趣也逐漸消失。
to stop working (machine, computer）停止運作
ex. My car is dying on the side of the road.
我的車停在路邊不動了。
ex. Oh no! My phone battery died!
= My phone died.
哦 不！我手機沒電了！
to die of (emotion, feeling) 情緒或感覺上快死掉了
ex. I could die of happiness!
我可能會幸福死了！
= I could die from happiness!
ex. I’m dying of hunger.
我要餓死了。
= I’m so hungry, I feel like I could die.
to be dying to = to want to do something 很想做什麼
ex. I’m dying to see that movie!
我現在很想看那部電影！
ex. He’s dying to go home.
他非常想回家。
