我們經常會見到的介係詞包含up、down、off、out、in……等等，當我們在這些介係詞前加上一個動詞，便成為片語動詞(phrasal verbs)！
Go Natural English的講師Gabby Wallace在影片中提出了三個片語動詞：pick up、pull up、run into。看似簡單，卻可能有你從沒學過的涵義呢！
1. Pick up 拿起某樣物品、用汽車搭載某人或接某人、偶然認識某人
e.g. He picked up the phone and started chatting with his friend. 他拿起電話並開始和朋友閒聊。
e.g. Amy will pick up a friend at the airport. Amy將開車到機場去接她的一個朋友。
e.g. Robert picked up a date at the pub. Robert在夜店裡認識了他的約會對象。
2. Pull up (使)停下來、搜尋
e.g. The car pulled up to the drive-through. 這台車開到免下車餐館的車道上停下來。
e.g. She pulled up the information on the Internet. 她在網路上搜尋資料。
3. Run into 碰巧遇到、撞到
e.g. I ran into a friend yesterday. 我昨天碰巧遇到了一個朋友。
e.g. The runner ran into a tree. 那位跑者撞到了一棵樹
